ENGL 332. Global Medieval Literature. 3 Hours.

A medieval culture is one active between 500 and 1500 CE with a primarily agrarian society, a written literary tradition, and a distinct class system. In this course, students will read medieval literature from three continents (Asia, Africa and Europe) and reflect on the intersections of race, gender and class in global medieval settings and cultures as reflected in the literary texts. Successful completion of this course satisfies the Cultures and Peoples requirement for graduation. Category D.

Prerequisite: Any 200-level ENGL course with a D or better.
